A lot happened in 2007. I replaced a bay window upstairs, added cabinets to the office remodeled a couple years earlier, and added leaded glass doors to the linen closet upstairs.
The bay window, documented here, absolutely floored me. The bay itself is roughly eight feet wide and nine feet tall and consists of three large windows. There were no 2x4s in the framing between the windows themselves. The only thing holding the whole thing together was the exterior and interior trim. What in the world were they thinking? I realize you need weight cavities, but that’s ridiculous! At any rate, all new Pella windows replaced the old through which you could see daylight. No more putting plastic over the bay in the winter time! Woohoo!
The cabinets were built out of the remainder of the 1 inch yellow pine treads and plywood bead board. They still aren’t quite done (typical for my work). There are supposed to be drawers between the upper and lower on the right side. Someday.
